With three growing kids and a new business, the clients of this one story rancher approached us with the desire to add some much needed space to an outdated floorplan. Working between the house and tight side setback, we were able to squeeze in a new primary suite, studio/office, and secondary entrance to the house. This entrance doubles as both a drop zone for the kid's coats/backpacks and for clients who come to visit the studio.

In the existing portion of the house, we rethought the positioning of the attic / basement stairs to clean up the diagram of the house. Reorienting the stair allows for an improved kitchen layout with more space and a better working triangle. At the living room, we vaulted the ceiling and added new windows / doors to better connect the space with the backyard. Lastly, the renovated dining room and connected entry also boast large sliding doors to the front porch with a beautiful oak scrim at the stair.
